Wednesday’s crash between a Via passenger train and a double-decker bus near Ottawa has weighing on the emotions of bus drivers in Regina.
“It does way heavy on me because, yeah, it could have happened in Regina,” said Don baker, president of the Amalgamated Transit Union local 588.
Within an hour of the crash, Baker phoned up his counterpart in Ottawa with the local 279 to express his condolences.
“There’s a lot of people with heavy hearts right now.” he said.
